Spokesperson Training: Speaking of Beef
Today’s consumers have a lot on their minds when they visit their favorite restaurants or local grocery stores to purchase beef.  Getting a great-tasting steak is still top of mind, but movies like Food, Inc. have raised their level of concern about beef safety, animal care and the environment.  These issues are all converging in the minds of consumers and, as a result, everyone involved in beef production needs to be prepared to tell the story of how modern beef production provides a year-round supply of safe, wholesome and nutritious beef while providing proper care for cattle and the environment.  This hands-on communications training will help you answer consumer questions while delivering a positive message about modern beef production.

Lean Beef
The current nutrition environment continues to foster an increased emphasis on reducing saturated fat in the American diet.  Beef is often targeted as a culprit of excessive dietary saturated fat intake.  However, lean beef is widely available, many of the most popular cuts are considered lean, and lean beef fits easily in a low-saturated-fat diet.  Furthermore, the qualifier “lean” is highly desired by today’s consumer, helping to address nutrition misperceptions about beef.  In today’s nutrition environment, “lean” is an opportunity to showcase beef’s nutrient advantage and provide important nutrition solutions for today’s overfed, yet undernourished, population.  This session will address current factors affecting the nutrition landscape for beef such as nutrition labeling for meat products and highlight scientific evidence for lean beef’s role in helping Americans build healthier, more enjoyable diets.
